What Is The Neutral Gear For Within An Automatic Car?

Rick Fink's Blog | What Is The Neutral Gear For Within An Automatic Car?

Every automatic car comes with "N" or neutral as a part of the gear shift.

Have you wondered what it is for, since you haven't used it?

The neutral gear is actually for when you need to tow or push your vehicle.

If and when you need to do either, you definitely want your vehicle to be in neutral.

When in neutral,  pushing or towing your vehicle protects your transmission and tires.

So, if you are in a situation where you need to tow your vehicle or if stuck and need to push your vehicle, be sure to put your car's gear into neutral to help protect it!
