As we near close out on 2018, our minds quickly turn to what is new and ahead of us. The automotive industry “Best Buy” awards lists are out and they have our set our sights on all the new and upcoming vehicles for 2019. We combed through several sources for the best car buys for the 2019 models and noticed both similarities and differences.
U.S. News and World Report posted their “Best Buy” list way back in April, but most of their picks match up to the current lists that have been published recently. Maybe they got lucky as they were looking into their crystal ball and their predictions will ring true in the new year. We also looked at Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards of 2019, published 11/12/2018, and Consumer Guide Automotive 2019 Best Buys, who just released their winners yesterday on 12/4/2018.
All the lists we reviewed gave a special nod to the crossover vehicle. With classifications like Compact (Premium) Crossover, Subcompact (Premium) Crossover and Midsize (Premium) crossover, you can see that the crossover vehicle is continuing the trend of high demand and is here to stay.
In the Compact Pickup class, each list paid homage to the redesign revival of the Ford Ranger. After an 8-year hiatus, the Ranger is coming back in a big way probably due to the fact that this classification is seeing a resurgence in popularity.
