Do You Need Winter Tires On AWD Vehicles?

Rick Fink's Blog | Do You Need Winter Tires On AWD Vehicles?

Vehicles with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) systems add considerable weight to vehicles.

The weight provides control and traction, needed for driving in the snow, but what some do not know is that this also increases the braking distance required to make a complete stop.

That's not all.

AWD vehicles provide power to all four wheels using front, rear, and center differentials. They work fine in places where snow falls frequently, but most choose to not add winter tires when they should.

Although AWD vehicles are great to use on snowy days, with the addition of winter tires, these vehicles are better at stopping in the wintertime.

It is very important to me that you stay safe this winter. Make sure you add winter tires to your AWD vehicles this year.
