In short, yes. The trend is real that even OEM's are removing sedans off of their assembly line.
But like every other purchase, you need to weigh the pros and cons and if an SUV will serve you your needs.
Yes, an SUV has more seats, room and can be driven over harsh terrain. Their platform and suspension were made to perform better than a sedan.
These traits make an SUV more desirable for many drivers. But they too come with a higher price and that includes gas.
However, overall SUVs are better than sedans as they are a different class altogether. Just make sure they are better for you.
