You may have thought that Kia and Hyundai were the same motor company when in fact, they are not.
However, they did both originate from South Korea.
Kia vehicles are still mainly produced from South Korea, where as most Hyundai's are manufactured within the U.S.
Even so, both motor companies resemble each other structurally.
With that said, Hyundai did buy 51% of Kia in 1998, but since then it's stock in the company has fluctuated.
Perhaps, this is what sparked the question, are Kia and Hyundai one in the same?
The answer is no, but they certainly have a lot of similarities and with Hyundai having stock in Kia, it is no surprise that some may have wondered if they were.
